Strategize

Think about your strategy. You have all this nice video, now what? Do you just upload all to Facebook and call it a day? For one, your company’s films can be posted to multiple platforms including your email funnels, website, youtube channel, google, and social media.

One of the best ways to use video in your business is in your email funnel. We refer to this as our customer’s Journey.  Create videos for your email funnels to guide prospects into customers. A client testimonial video or a Frequently asked Question video adds a ton of value. The videos in your customer’s journey can be short, but it’s ok for them to be a bit longer if they’re engaging and informative.

Wistia, a video software company, found that using video in email led to 300% increase in email click-through rates compared to emails without video. Even just using the word “video” in your email subject lines has been found to increase open rates by 19%, and reduce unsubscribes by 25%!”*

Permanent Homes for Video

There are two places where your videos should live permanently, Youtube and your website. That’s not to say all of your videos, but ones that will always apply to your company. We call these evergreen videos.

Companies forget about YouTube. Next to its owner Google, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world.  Videos also help with ranking your website, in search engines, as it provides more SEO. If you’re doing a review of a product, a brand story, or answering frequently asked questions, you should have your videos on YouTube! These two platforms are great because when people search for specific videos they can be brought onto your website or youtube channel. All the closer they are to becoming prospects and clients. Brand stories, testimonials, and how to videos work great here. Customers who visit immediately know and trust you by following you through your own journey as a business, and your level of knowledge.

Social Media Videos

Social media is the next place that most people want to post video. The videos that are posted on social media aren’t always evergreens. However, it would be wise to repost your evergreen videos periodically.  Videos for social media should be short form. Viewership exponentially decreases after 30 seconds, and even more every 15 seconds you add on to that.  That means social media videos anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds long will engage the most viewers.

The name of the game with social media is to stay top of mind. So posting videos that are quick FAQ’s or bits from your larger brand story, are great videos that will engage your prospects. These short form videos are meant to show your audience what’s happening in the here and now with you and your company.

Use your platforms wisely, as they can encompass all of your marketing. Unlike television, where you need to pay to broadcast a commercial, these five platforms are free and unlimited. So you can run entire campaigns using these methods without spending a cent outside of your production budget.
